Message of thanks for the Mass of December 8

Lac-Etchemin, December 12, 2024

Dear Members of the Lady’s Work,
Dear Friends,

The ceremony on Sunday, December 8, uplifted everyone’s heart and left its mark on all minds. This date in history will remain as the day when, in our worship, a great step was taken with a view to establishing ever more obviously and concretely the Kingdom of God on Earth.

For all those who were able to come, you feared neither the weather conditions nor the warnings aimed at making you doubt the validity of the Mass. And so many of you exclaimed that it was “a day from Heaven”, a “breath of hope”, a “blessed day”! The number of letters, calls and messages received speak abundantly to your shared joy.

Many persons generously gave of themselves for the preparation and the wonderful unfolding of this day. I want to thank them all: the Fathers especially who looked after preparing it; the Priests and the Mothers; the Brothers Sons of Mary and the Sisters Daughters of Mary (translation, preparation of leaflets, readings, organ); the Knights of the Lady; the choir members who outdid themselves once again; the cameramen, the soundmen and all those who looked after the broadcast on Internet; the members of the Service and Order Unit; the receptionists and the kitchen personnel; those responsible for snow removal and who looked after the parking (in the snow and the cold); without forgetting all those who prepared the chapel and the basement and then cleaned them, etc.

However, what marked the day most of all was your presence, so numerous, attentive and recollected. You were visibly well aware of the extraordinariness of what was being lived on that day, and this could be felt in the way you responded in unison, clearly and strongly, during the entire Mass, to the point that this was impressive. Everything contributed to make of it a memorable day.

For all of that, I want to congratulate you and express my most heartfelt gratitude to you! The success of this solemn Mass was everyone’s doing and I ask the Lady to bless all of you.

As I happen to be writing to you in mid-December, I take this opportunity to wish all of you a Joyous Christmas, a Happy New Year and a feast of the Epiphany that will prepare your hearts, more than ever, for the Kingdom Marie-Paule won and merited for us.
