You Were There, Mary!
Praise to you, Mary, the Woman who was completely open to the Holy Spirit.
Praise to you, Mary, you who permitted that, through your Son Jesus, every man may turn to his God, be reconciled with Him. Still today, help us to resolutely turn to Him, to open ourselves unreservedly to the Holy Spirit, as you did.
Praise to you, Mary, for you are the Mother of believers.
You gave us Life because you welcomed in you the Word of Life. Praise to you for having said “yes” when God sought your consent. O Virgin Mary, you were there!
O Virgin Mary, you will be there… to welcome in me the Word of Life. I must incessantly turn to my God. In order to say “yes” to the Lord’s calls, I need you.
Praise to you, Mary, Woman of faith!
You bore the Light of the world, but you journeyed in darkness, without understanding. You were put to the test from the time of the overwhelming mystery of your motherhood to the scandal of your Son’s cross.
Praise to you for the faithfulness with which you preserved in your Heart the Word which you could not yet understand. Through your faith in all events, you were there, O Virgin Mary, with your Son.
O Virgin Mary, you will be there… When I am disconcerted, when I cannot understand, arouse in me that faith whereby I remain, like you, turned to God, open to His Spirit. In times of doubt, in times of fear, you will be there with me, O Virgin Mary.
Praise to you, Mary, a woman of prayer, the temple of the Spirit, the open door onto God’s world. Praise pours forth from your heart. A service to be rendered to your cousin gave you an opportunity to praise your God. The distress of the newlyweds at Cana became, in you, a confident prayer. In you, praise, prayer and activity work together harmoniously. You were there, O Virgin Mary, to serve and to give praise.
O Virgin Mary, you will be there… Teach me to glorify the Lord, as you did, for all the wonders He works in me. So that, in me, prayer and activity may be reconciled, so that, in the service of my brethren, this may be an occasion to praise the Lord; in all my activities, O Virgin Mary, you will be there.
Praise to you, Mary, silent Virgin, you who were filled with the Holy Spirit on the night of Pentecost. You continued to journey with the Apostles, poor, humble and effaced. You were there, O Virgin Mary, to console, to calm and to fortify them.
O Virgin Mary, you will be there… Grant me this desire for silence whereby I can meet you. Give me the energy that enkindles the fire of your love. Grant me fervor, for in asking this of you, I ask of you everything, because I am asking you to lead me to your Son, so that I may give Him to souls.
So that my apostolate may bring consolation, strength and calmness to those who count on me, O Virgin Mary, you will be there.
Praise to you, Mary, you the Virgin entirely turned to your God and yet incessantly turned towards the earth.
Praise to you through the saints in whom you manifested yourself, to whom you confided your secrets, more particularly in Paris, La Salette, Lourdes and Fatima. Praise to you for all the souls that wish to live in complete fidelity to your “messages for our time”. To support your children in times of difficulty, you were there, O Virgin Mary.
O Virgin Mary, you will be there… Fill my heart with such a great love, such an intense faith, such a firm hope that I, like you, may be turned to my God, open to His Spirit, available to all my brethren. So that I may always be present before my God and for my brothers, O Virgin Mary, you will be there.
O Virgin Mary, you were always there throughout your Son’s life, on Calvary, at the time of the founding of the Church, and you continue to be there to support it during its most difficult hours. O Virgin Mary, we rely on you, we know that you will always be there, and with fervor and confidence, we renew our consecration to your Immaculate Heart.
Holy Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus and Mother of the Church, I choose you today, in the presence of the Holy Trinity and of all the heavenly court, for my Mother and my Queen. I surrender and consecrate to you my whole being with its powers, my whole life, and all my spiritual and natural endowments so that you may dispose of them to the greater glory of God. I will, from now on, do all things for you, through you, with you and in you, to the end that Jesus may see in me the traits of His divine Mother and be thus further glorified.
Oh Mary! You who are as powerful as an army in battle array, I enlist with confidence as a knight under your banner so as to serve you and extend your reign about me by my devotion, my word and the example of my everyday life to the extent of my ability.
I know that this consecration commits me to your way, that of love which gives without measure. I accept in advance all the renunciations involved. But I beg of you to obtain for me an invincible strength which will overcome all the difficulties and trials inherent in my apostolate.
May no obstacle lessen my fervor in your service. Be the Sovereign of my life and conduct; govern me in everything so that everything may be for God.
Prayer to Mary, the Commander in Chief of the Armies in Heaven
August Queen of Heaven, sovereign Queen of Angels, you who at the beginning received from God the power and the mission to crush Satan’s head, we beseech you humbly, send your holy legions so that, on your orders and by your power, they will track down demons, fight them everywhere, curb their audacity and plunge them into the abyss.
Who can be compared to God?
Oh good and tender Mother, you will always be our love and our hope.
Oh divine Mother, send the Holy Angels and Archangels to defend us and to keep the cruel enemy far from us.
Holy Angels and Archangels defend us, protect us. Amen.
Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Based on texts from Sister Lucia of Fatima
December 10, 1925. The Blessed Virgin appeared with the Infant Jesus beside her, borne on a luminous cloud. The Blessed Virgin showed me her Heart surrounded with thorns, and the Infant Jesus said to me: “Have pity on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother, covered with the thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, without there being anyone to make an act of reparation so as to pull them out.”
The Most Blessed Virgin added: “See, my child, this Heart of mine surrounded with the thorns with which men transfix it at every moment by their blasphemy and ingratitude. You, at least, try to console me.”
Our Lady then specified how to make reparation and console her Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart: “Tell all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, go to confession and receive Holy Communion, recite the rosary, and keep me company for a quarter of an hour while meditating on the mysteries of the rosary with the intention of making reparation, that I promise to assist them at the hour of death with all the graces necessary for salvation.”
Those who will not be able to meet all those conditions on Saturday may do so on Sunday. The practice of this devotion is also accepted on the Sunday following the first Saturday when priests, for a just reason, give permission to souls to do so.
It is possible to go to confession on another day, provided people are in a state of grace when they receive Holy Communion.
Here is what the Lord Himself revealed: “My child, the reason is simple. There are five kinds of offences and blasphemies against the Immaculate Heart of Mary:
– Blasphemies against the Immaculate Conception.
– Blasphemies against her virginity.
– Blasphemies against her divine motherhood, refusing at the same to recognize her as the Mother of men.
– The blasphemies of those who publicly seek to instill in the hearts of children indifference to or contempt for or even hatred of this Immaculate Mother.
– The offences of those who insult her outright in her holy pictures.
“There you have, my child, the reasons for which the Immaculate Heart of Mary inspired me to ask for this reparation and, in consideration of them, to be moved by my mercy to forgive those souls that had the misfortune of offending her.
“As for you, constantly seek through your prayers and your sacrifices, to touch my mercy for those poor souls.”
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Father, send now your Spirit over the earth. Let the Holy Spirit live in the hearts of all peoples, that they may be preserved from corruption, disaster and war. May the Lady of All Peoples, who once was Mary, be our Advocate. Amen
