The Daughters of Mary

Dear Friend,
For several years, a monthly letter was sent to young girls between the ages of 12 and 16. It was intended as encouragement for these girls who desire and want to live well their human life as a Daughter of Mary and a Daughter of Marie-Paule.
The period of adolescence is sometimes very difficult. Your parents help you and pass on wonderful values to you, but you have reached an age when, more and more, you will have to make good choices. This is a personal responsibility for the life and good health of your soul, your heart and your body in view of the happiness you must prepare and build.
Mathilda, the main character you will meet in our letters every month, is an adolescent just like you. She lives in a good family and is a member of the Work. She goes to school and comes in contact with different people, among whom is Sophie, her best friend in the Work. In her heart, she has an ideal, deep desires, but just like all the young people your age, she also runs into problems, struggles and temptations. She has to learn and allow herself to be formed, so as to develop humanly and spiritually. She does not do everything perfectly, but she strives to become what God and the Lady expect of her.
You will also discover other personages in our letters who are a part of Mathilda’s entourage. Her parents, of course, but also Colombe and Xavier. Colombe is Mathilda’s cousin, a very distinguished young lady. She is married to Xavier who is Sophie’s brother. This young couple exudes a special radiance with their little girl, Esther, who fulfills their generous and loving hearts.
Besides Mathilda’s family and relatives, you will sometimes come across Sister Lucette, a Daughter of Mary who has a bond with Mathilda; Mrs. Izabela, an elderly lady to whom Mathilda’s family renders many services; Charlene, a young girl who is disadvantaged in many ways but is very good, and who often seeks Mathilda’s company at school, as well as others who may be added to our story.
Through the recall of our Mother’s teachings, you will be led, with Mathilda and through her, to reflect on different themes that can influence the life of an adolescent belonging to the Immaculate.
Be assured that all the Sisters Daughters of Mary are interested in and pray for you.
