Dear Members of the Lady’s Work,
In my letter of last October, published in the review Le Royaume and addressed to all the Knights of Mary, it was written: “You will always be informed of all the decisions taken and the important changes that will be deemed necessary in any area.” This is a key rule I hope to establish so that there will not be any uncertainty or questioning concerning the responsibility of anyone whomsoever in the Lady’s Work.
Thus, to begin with, the “new Mass” in the process of being prepared could not be celebrated on the day foreseen without the generous collaboration of many people, among whom we must mention, particularly, Father Leander Van Renterghem and Father Jean-Michel Bouchard to whom I felt, as of October, that it was best to entrust the major part of the task, with the authorization of Father Serge Lépine, Superior General of the Sons of Mary.
Since then, Father Leander and Father Jean-Michel have gained a good experience and an in-depth knowledge not only of the new Mass but also of all this involves in different areas. Therefore, so that everything may be quite clear for everyone, we are setting up today a Liturgy Bureau, and they will be in charge of it. To start with, this Bureau will only look after the new Mass, but its field of action could be extended in the future. It will be located at 626 route du Sanctuaire at Lac-Etchemin (tel: 418-625-3334 / bureaudeliturgie@outlook.com).
Thus, with regard to the first “new Mass” and all the ones that will follow, Father Leander and Father Jean-Michel will have the task of seeing to it that the new rituals are correctly put in place for celebrations held at Spiri-Maria and in the other locations of the Work in which Mass is celebrated. Besides that, they will collaborate in the progressive development of the Liturgy of the Word in the coming months. With the consent of the Superiors of the Communities and other persons in charge as required, they will also be able to enlist, inasmuch as possible, the collaboration of persons who can help them achieve all those objectives, and their work will be under the permanent supervision of the Church King.
May the Lady guide, inspire and support them as the days go by!
